Had a busy day today, and I am ready for bed! I finished my index for my recipes, packed, did some washing, revised, took my notes over to the school so they could be checked, and cleaned the house with the girls. My Ballymaloe bedroom is all tidy, there are three boxes on the spare bed ready to be shipped home, and my suitcases are packed. There is one set of chef’s whites hanging in the closet to wear to the exam tomorrow, and my dress for tomorrow evening. The main floor is all tidy, the press has been emptied of any leftover bits of food, and there are two boxes on the table for charity. It’s a quiet house tonight, as is the courtyard.
Can’t believe that at this time tomorrow we will be at the farewell dinner. We have three exams, starting at 8:30am, I am not getting too worried about the exams, I know that I have listened over the last twelve weeks, and I found all of the demos very engaging, which will of course help. I am going to head to bed early tonight after eating two boiled eggs for dinner – probably the last eggs that I’ll eat from the Ballymaloe hens. I’ll wake up early and do a bit of revising before heading into the school. We have a few hours off tomorrow afternoon before the farewell dinner at 7:30, so I will wander around the farm and into the greenhouse to see what’s happening. I am relieved to have everything done that needs to be done before leaving Saturday morning.
Looking very forward to a glass or two of bubbles with all of the lovely people that I’ve met after the exams tomorrow – hopefully the sun will be shining and we can enjoy some time in the courtyard.
