Weekend three is over, and it was such a great weekend. Mary took Jared, Nicole and I into Cobh for the afternoon, and then we went to Myrtleville for dinner. Fun fact about Cobh, The Titanic last sailed from Cobh.
We went into a pub called Rob Roy, John the bartender named me “The Corporate Whore,” because I ordered a Guinness. He then said why not try three different beers, two more local (Beamish and Murphy’s), and Guinness in a blind tasting to see which one I liked best. Murphy’s was #1, Beamish # 2, and Guinness #3. John was quite proud of himself for proving his point. It’s funny because Nicole’s blog is called The Corporate Cook. We wandered around Cobh, had a coffee before we went into the pub, and went into a church as well. The town is quite hilly, not much was open because it’s the slow season, but still really neat to walk around and explore.
The restaurant in Myrtleville that we went to was in such a beautiful location, right on the sea, with rolling farm fields in the landscape as well. Ireland truly has stunning scenery. We went down and walked on the beach for a bit, found two pooches, as you seem to do when you’re on the beach anywhere in Ireland, and played with them for a bit before heading into dinner. I took loads of photos, but won’t upload them all tonight… It’s 11pm now and I best be getting to bed.
